Apple pie or gift certificate?

Success!  I got everything done on my to do list today.  :)

I wish I had pre-planned my food a bit more, but I also enjoyed relaxing yesterday and not running around in the kitchen.

At lunch time, I picked up more food for Reggie.... he was very happy about this!  Headed home to take him for a walk and then feed myself.

LUNCH
-flat out, left over turkey burger w/ cheddar, red pepper, sprouts, wickles and ketchup
-side of non-fat cottage cheese and mango (YUM!)

Before heading out the door I spied a few left over dark chocolate covered almonds (I had picked some up Saturday night when we had some friends over after dinner).  So good!  Perfect treat before heading back to work.

I had a lot on my plate back at work, so I was glued to my desk.  I brought along the last of a bag of baby carrots.  I was able to CRUNCH out my frustration.

After work I headed home quickly to walk Reggie and then ventured out again to meet the course certification guy.  He is an official USA Track & Field Course Certifier.  We mainly went over the start and finish of the race I'm organizing, figured out where we have room for adjustment and possible issues that might need to be resolved.  It went well!  I'm getting SUPER excited for the race.  We have sponsorships rolling in, racers signing up (10 today!) and volunteers lining up.  Yay!

Once that meeting was over, I ran home quickly for some FOOD before my next meeting... school board.

I grabbed the remnants of a couple turkey slices.....

And the last of the non-fat cottage cheese with a little mango.

It did the trick!  I had a Larabar in my purse but between the food and the HEAT (some day they may air condition city hall.... yeah right), I wasn't hungry for it.  Once home, I probably should have just had some cereal but instead went for a couple slices of left over pizza the hubby had left for me.

DINNER

Nothing fancy.  But it was food.... Like I said wish I had pre-planned more.  But I hate to see pizza go to waste.  ;)

Well except maybe for the crust, it was a bit to doughy for my liking.
I need to drink more water.  Feeling like I have been sweaty and clammy all day.  Also debating a popsicle..... thinking that may cool me off as well.

Need to finish up some strategizing for the road race, mainly figuring out businesses to hit up for prizes.  What do you think are good age group prizes for a 5k?  This race/festival is apple themed so one of my thoughts are apple pies from a local bakery..... yes/no?  I also have gift certificates from a local running store.... but what would first get, gift certificate or a pie?  What would you appreciate more?

Have a great night!!

Never assume a meeting will be short......

Cause then it won't be!

My little snack before my 6:30 meeting was never meant to tide me over till 10pm, blah!
Ah local city politics, never can be done quickly.

I was SO HAPPY to finally get home and EAT EAT EAT!!!   :)

So recap of the day....

Mid Morning SNACK
-1/2 whole wheat sandwich thin w/ Bee's Knees Peanut Butter
-iced coffee w/ skim milk and 1 sugar

LUNCH
I headed home to walk the pooch, Reggie appreciated the ability to make a pit stop.  ;)
Made myself a lovely sandwich...
-flat out, turkey, FRESH pesto, tomato, spinach and sprouts
-side o' carrots

The pesto ROCKS by the way!

Very satisfying lunch...although I still needed a mid afternoon snack after a couple of marathon conference calls and then an urgent project dumped on me.

SNACK
-nectarine & Kashi Honey Almond Flax granola bar

Things ran late at work... I didn't get to leave till 5:30.  That left me with less than an hour till my city meeting.  :(   I tried to use my time wisely and cut up a cantaloupe I hadn't gotten to yet, snacked on a little bit of that.... but not enough to tide me over till 10pm unfortunately.

6:30-10 is too long of a meeting.  At least in my book.
I needed something good and fast when I got home,  another sandwich was in order.

DINNER
-flat out, turkey, provolone, hummus, tomato and sprouts
-side of cottage cheese & melon
YAY FOOD!!

I really should start packing snacks, this not eating till 10pm on a weeknight is just not good.  Plus now I'm a bit wound and cannot get to sleep.  Fortunately I don't have to workout at 6am tomorrow (sleep in till 7!)..... unfortunately I have a 10K race at 6pm tomorrow night, crossing fingers that the weather cools down a bit OR it is cooler by the ocean.

It will be interesting to also see how my spaghetti legs hold up tomorrow night at the race.  I haven't raced in awhile so it will be interesting to see where I am at... especially with a 10K.  The last 10K I did was in June and definitely was not my fastest, did it in 47:06..... so my goal tomorrow will be to improve on that.  I don't think a PR is in my future at the moment, but at least I have a goal!

Hope you had a great day!

Holy Hunger!

Ugh... I finally got home about a half hour ago (10pm) and was so hungry for dinner!  My meeting tonight lasted way too long, it started at 6pm.  I had hoped to have dinner before hand but got stuck at work late so I only had time for a snack.

But first recap of the day......

MORNING SNACK
Nectarine & iced coffee w/ skim milk & one splenda
LUNCH
-Spinach Flat Out, turkey, spinach, sprouts, tomato, Wickles, little mayo
-Side of cantaloupe

AFTERNOON SNACK

Um.... Afternoon dessert.  ;)

Then it was my 3rd snack of the afternoon before my meeting.
-cottage cheese & a little almond butter (not bad)

I thought the almond butter would provide some staying power....
but not enough for FOUR HOURS of a meeting!!!  Ack!

I was dreaming of food near the end, my tummy was growling, I really should have brought a snack...unfortunately its not a meeting that is very conducive to eating during it (its televised).

DINNER (finally)
The hubby made dinner so I just heated up leftovers.... a burger.  Dang that tasted good!
-lean meat, whole wheat bun, cheddar cheese, spinach, sprouts, tomato, Wickles, and probably more ketchup that I should have used..... oh well
-corn
-tall glass of milk

I chowed.  Now to digest a bit and then head to bed.
